Debut of the 4th-Generation Core Frameless Products,Empowering Key Control Links of Humanoid Robots

图片 5.png

In 2016, Kinco launched its first-generation frameless torque motor, achieving a breakthrough in localization with the advantages of "performance comparable to imported products and better cost-effectiveness". At that time, core components of domestic collaborative robots relied heavily on overseas brands. By optimizing magnetic circuit design and precision manufacturing processes, Kinco made the first-generation product reach the international level in key indicators such as torque density and control accuracy, successfully breaking the monopoly of foreign capital.

After nearly a decade of forging ahead, Kinco officially released the 4th-generation FMK series frameless torque motor and its supporting RD series hollow driver in July 2025, successfully achieving a key leap from the "collaborative robot" field to the "humanoid robot" field.

This generation of products has achieved multiple technological innovations to meet the joint needs of humanoid robots.

Full-Size Coverage:

Covers a complete range of outer diameters from 25mm to 160mm, compatible with all types of joints including waist, shoulder, elbow and wrist, making it the most complete product series in the industry.

Process Upgrade:

Optimized stator welding and potting processes reduce motor weight while lowering temperature rise, effectively solving the heat dissipation pain point of legged robots during long-term operation.

Structural Innovation:

Adopts a high slot-fill ratio and large hollow design. The enlarged hollow space offers flexible layout room for mechanical engineers to arrange bearings, and combined with special design, enables a 40% reduction in the total module length.

Hollow Driver and Encoder

Featuring an innovatively developed ring-shaped hollow driver with a hollow diameter of up to 20mm, it completely resolves cable routing challenges and enables more flexible structural design.

Supports standard CANopen or EtherCAT protocols to meet multi-axis synchronous control and rapid commissioning requirements.

Built-in multiple protection mechanisms including overvoltage, undervoltage, over-temperature, short-circuit and overcurrent enhance operational safety.

Supports wide-voltage power supply for adaptation to various application scenarios.

Offers an ultra-compact inductive encoder with 19-bit single-turn resolution, satisfying feedback requirements for both high and low-speed shafts.

At present, Kinco’s FMK platform can cover the full range of frameless motors for rotary and linear joints required by full-size humanoid robots.

Omnidirectional Steering Wheel for Wheeled Humanoid RobotsAn industry-first pioneering product

图片 8.png

Addressing the pain points of wheeled chassis for humanoid robots – large size, complex installation and high maintenance costs – Kinco’s i-Kinco omnidirectional steering wheel module has achieved multiple breakthroughs:

With a highly integrated design, it deeply combines four core components: driver, motor, reducer and wheel. Compared with traditional separate solutions, it greatly reduces installation space and lowers chassis height. It adapts to 3-steering-wheel / 4-steering-wheel chassis with a load capacity of 100–300 kg, and features a movement speed of over 2 m/s, perfectly meeting the requirements of operations in various narrow passages.

Dual Upgrades in Precision & Stability

Equipped with a multi-turn absolute encoder, it retains position data even after power loss, delivering both high steering precision and fast movement speed. This effectively eliminates collisions caused by inaccurate positioning in wheeled humanoid robotsKinco步科.

Enhanced Environmental Adaptability

The walking module boasts an IP54 protection rating, resisting dust and water ingress, making it suitable for harsh environments such as food processing and automotive workshopsKinco步科.

Flexible Delivery Models

The steering and walking modules are available separately, supporting customers to customize chassis solutions on demand and significantly shortening the R&D cycle.
