Love Passed On — Reflections on the Charity Event
Volunteers’ Voices:
Companionship is the best remedy for loneliness. The elderly today are like easily contented “children”;the warmth they long for in their eyes far outweighs material gifts.
——Shuheng Cao
The nursing home in the morning light is intertwined with silence and waiting. Untold stories lie hidden in the elders' eyes. We brought only temporary joy, yet took away far more — reflections on time, companionship and the dignity of life.
—— Feng Yuan
As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, I participated in the warmth-delivery activity organized by Tangtou Community on behalf of the company. Focusing on the special groups in the community, this activity aimed to send festival blessings and warm care to families in need through on-site visits and material support. A total of 3 representative households were visited, including elderly families and low-income families, delivering care in a practical and down-to-earth manner.
Among the three households, one low-income family left the deepest impression on me. The family faces special difficulties: they have a child with cerebral palsy who cannot take care of himself and requires full-time care. The child’s parents work long hours and often overtime to support the family, leaving them little time to stay with the child. The heavy burden of daily care falls on the elderly grandparents with limited mobility. There is also a sensible and thin elder sister who, at a young age, takes the initiative to share housework and look after her younger brother and grandparents.
Upon entering the home, a striking contrast appeared between the dim and messy living environment and the wall covered with certificates of merit — all earned through the elder sister’s hard work, shining as the brightest "light of hope" in this struggling family. Despite the difficult living conditions, the grandparents greeted us with big smiles and kept saying "thank you" throughout the visit, full of gratitude.
Witnessing this scene, I felt deeply saddened. My heart ached for the family’s hardships, yet I was also deeply touched by their optimistic attitude toward life.
I hope to have more opportunities to participate in such public welfare activities in the future, unite the strength of the enterprise, bring warmth to more people in need, and let the flower of public welfare continue to bloom even in the darkest places.
—— Zhihui Chen
During our community visit, we met three families in great difficulty. Every scene deeply touched our hearts and made us understand the true meaning of care.
The first family has an 80-year-old man who is paralyzed and bedridden, unable to take care of himself. The poor living conditions were obvious to all.
The second family is an elderly couple. The 60-year-old husband is also paralyzed and bedridden. The family lives on the wife’s small income as a sanitation worker. She has to care for her husband while working to support the family.
The most heartbreaking case was the third family. A girl in her twenties fell from a building at 14, leaving her disabled and mentally impaired. For six years, her mother has taken full responsibility for her daily care.
Their stories moved us greatly and strengthened our resolve to spread warmth.Even a simple greeting or a little help can bring comfort and strength to their difficult lives.
—— Hongju Hu
We hope to offer the villagers in need not only material support, but also hope and confidence in life.During the visit, I thought of my own elders. To care for the elderly is an instinct, and also a comfort to our hearts.
—— Dongqing Xia
Small acts of kindness gather into light. As the Mid-Autumn Festival approaches, I took part in the company’s public welfare activity — visiting the elderly and families in need in the community. In just half a day, I gained the most sincere understanding of warmth and responsibility.
During the activity, I visited two families. My heart ached when I met the elderly lady in the first family. Though in her sixties, she looked much older, bent but still working hard to take care of the family alone without help from children. Her small body carried great strength. When she filled in the questionnaire, her neat handwriting was even better than some young people’s. After receiving the supplies, she carefully said “thank you” in Hakka that I could not understand, yet the warmth was heartfelt. The sight of her waving goodbye at the road remains vivid in my mind. The second family of five or six lived in a compact 30-square-meter room, small but warm. The younger brother was paralyzed in an accident, and only the mother, in relatively good health, cared for the whole family. Still, they were not defeated by hardship; they kept smiling and stayed positive, and the children’s smiles were deeply comforting. Public welfare is never one-sided giving, but sincerity exchanged for sincerity and warmth passed on.
I used to think public welfare was a distant and grand idea. Having experienced it myself, I now know it lies in patient words and small efforts within our reach. We cannot change all difficulties, but every little act adds kindness to the world.
This activity made me understand: caring for the elderly is respect for time;helping families in need is tribute to life. In the future, I want to be not only a participant, but also a promoter of public welfare. I will share this experience and inspire more people to join in. I believe countless small efforts can combine into the power to change the world. Public welfare is not a temporary passion, but long-term persistence. May we shine our faint light to brighten more corners and pass on warmth through small deeds, so that love continues. Finally, I thank the company for holding this activity and everyone who worked for it. Wish you all a happy Mid-Autumn Festival in advance!
—— Chenke Gao
During this public welfare activity, I visited three families with my colleagues. What impressed me most was the first family: a 72-year-old elder and a fourth-grade little sister taking care of a bedridden, paralyzed boy. My heart ached deeply for them. I feel fortunate to have joined this activity and contributed on behalf of the company. We hope to let them know that kindness and love still exist in this world, and that people care about them. I would gladly participate again if there is another chance.Helping others has also warmed my heart.
—— Jinxiu Yuan
Making wormwood mallets with the elderly ladies, our clumsy handicrafts gradually took shape amid laughter. Time spent working side by side felt especially warm. As we left, they waved and invited us to come often. I suddenly realized that companionship is never one-sided giving. While warming their hearts, we were also healed by their simple and genuine joy.
—— Yuxuan Liu
Providing emotional value is not about complex efforts, but about the persistence to do small things well. Whether in corporate care activities or daily interactions, we should learn from nursing homes: replace perfunctory responses with patient listening, and formal arrangements with practical, need-based actions, so that warmth can be felt in every detail. Only with sincerity as the foundation and needs as the guide can we truly deliver meaningful emotional support. This is how care takes root and brings happiness to others.
—— Lili Chen
In the activity center of the nursing home, we sat with the elderly and made handicrafts together. The interaction was gentle, their stories heartfelt, and patient guidance and warm laughter filled the room.
This visit was more than a public welfare activity; it was a true experience of our corporate culture. We often speak of a "caring, responsible enterprise. "Such warmth is not just words on a slogan, but care in action—for customers, colleagues, and the elderly in need.
When I saw the elders’ eyes light up with their finished handicrafts, I knew: every act of kindness warms others and shapes our shared spirit. Responsibility and empathy become the invisible force driving our company forward.
—— Keitatsu Kanou
This activity was like a mirror, reflecting the future we all may face and the neglected corners of our society. It was more than a public welfare event—it was a vivid lesson on life.
——Wentao Rui
Charity is not handouts, but mutual fulfillment. We thought we were giving, yet we also gained warmth and reflection.
An aging society is not far away. They are today, and we will be tomorrow.
Companionship is the most lasting care. No advanced facility can replace the warmth between people.
